In a statement released on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the command’s spokesperson, announced the arrest of Khadija Umar (aka Naira) and two of her sons for housebreaking and theft.
The trio was apprehended by police operatives from the Angwan Lambu Division.
According to DSP Nansel, Khadija would typically surveil a target area, waiting for an opportune moment to strike.
Once the coast was clear, she would enlist the help of her two biological sons and two other accomplices (still at large) to carry out their criminal activities.
The police recovered various stolen items from the suspects, including:
- 2 television sets
- 2 mattresses
- A gas cooker
- A 12kg cylinder
- A standing fan
- A GoTv decoder
- Cooking pots
- An electric jug
- A refrigerator
- Solar panels
These items were seized as exhibits, according to DSP Nansel.
Commissioner of Police Umar Shehu Nadada has instructed a thorough manhunt for the remaining suspects who fled the scene.
Additionally, the CP has directed the Divisional Police Officer to ensure that the arrested suspects are charged to court for prosecution once the investigation is complete, facilitating swift justice in the case.
