Troops Neutralize 152 Terrorists, Arrest 109 in One Week – Defence Headquarters

The Defence Headquarters has announced a significant breakthrough in the ongoing counter-terrorism operations, revealing that troops have successfully neutralized a total of 152 terrorists and apprehended 109 others within a single week.
This achievement marks a substantial milestone in the military’s efforts to combat terrorist activities and restore peace and security in the region.
Furthermore, the military has successfully dismantled the strongholds of two prominent terrorist leaders, identified as Sadiku and Yusuf, located in Tsora Hill, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, and Yadi Forest, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, respectively.
These enclaves were previously considered safe havens for terrorist activities, and their destruction is expected to significantly disrupt the terrorists’ ability to operate effectively.
In addition to these achievements, troops have also rescued 91 hostages who were being held captive by the terrorists.

“The war against terrorists, insurgents, violent extremists, and others perpetrating insecurity in the country rages, and troops are sustaining the momentum to achieve victory. Indeed, the armed forces are steadily progressing towards the goal of destruction of all these elements.

Given recent events, the military learns every day and makes improvements on ways to better deal with threat situations posed by these terror groups. Troops are moving in against the terrorists and denying them freedom of action.” Edward Buba said.

This rescue operation is a testament to the military’s commitment to protecting innocent lives and restoring normalcy to affected communities.
The military’s efforts have also yielded significant results in the fight against crude oil theft, with the recovery of petroleum products valued at N795 million.
This achievement is a major blow to the illicit oil trade and is expected to have a positive impact on the nation’s economy.
The Director of Media Operations, Edward Buba, has attributed these successes to the military’s sustained momentum and determination to eradicate all forms of criminality and insecurity in the country.
He has also appealed to citizens to continue supporting the troops in their efforts to win the war against insecurity, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and cooperation in achieving lasting peace and security.
