Adejuwon Soyinka Freed After Airport Arrest

Adejuwon Soyinka, an investigative journalist and Pioneer Editor of the BBC Pidgin Service, has been released by the Department of State Services (DSS).

Soyinka was previously arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday.

Adejuwon Soyinka, West African Regional Editor of the Conversation Africa, was detained by security agents upon his arrival from the UK via Virgin Atlantic flight around 5:40 am.

He was later released after a prolonged interrogation session, but his passport was confiscated.

The reason for his detention remains unknown.

According to Soyinka’s friend, who shared an update, Soyinka has been unreachable, and all attempts to contact him via phone have been unsuccessful.
