The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially delisted the highly anticipated Group D second-leg fixture of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and Libya, initially scheduled for Tuesday.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria had previously secured a 1-0 victory over Libya in the first leg, held at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday.
However, the second leg has been scrapped following a horrible experience endured by the Nigerian team at the Libya airport. The Nigerian Football Federation, players, and officials recounted their 14-hour ordeal, which included humiliation, prompting their decision to return home.
In response, CAF has initiated an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, the Libya Football Federation has alleged sabotage and threatened legal action against Nigeria.
CAF took to its official Twitter handle to announce the schedule of games for Tuesday, noticeably omitting the Super Eagles vs Libya match.
