Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reportedly reached a settlement in their divorce, five months after their unexpected split.
According to DailyMail, the former celebrity couple will officially end their marriage on February 20, with each party retaining the assets they individually acquired during their brief union.
Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, tied the knot in 2022 but did not have a prenuptial agreement in place.
Their combined wealth is estimated at $550 million, with Lopez’s assets accounting for $400 million.
The couple has reached an agreement on their $61 million Beverly Hills mansion, although the terms of the agreement will remain private.
The actor-director and singer-actress exchanged vows at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, and again at Affleck’s estate outside of Savannah, Georgia, on August 20, 2022.
Lopez filed for divorce on the two-year anniversary of their Georgia nuptials, listing their separation date as April 26, 2024.
As part of the settlement, Affleck will retain his stake in his production company, Artists Equity, which he founded in 2022 with Matt Damon. The company has produced several films, including Air, The Accountant Part 2, and Unstoppable. Lopez, on the other hand, worked on projects such as Shotgun Wedding, This Is Me… Now, and The Mother during their marriage.
The settlement, mediated by celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, also reveals that Lopez will drop Affleck as her last name and revert to Jennifer Lynn Lopez. This comes after Affleck received a visit from Lopez at his home, just hours before the Golden Globes.
The reunion appeared to be amicable, with Lopez even giving Affleck’s son Samuel, 12, a hug.
Sources close to the couple have indicated that they intend to remain in each other’s lives despite their divorce.
“They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved,” a source told Page Six. The source added that the two stars will still communicate when it involves their kids, and that they have a mutual respect for one another.
Ben shares three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez has two children from a previous relationship.
