“The former Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister, Beta Edu, was daring, audacious and flamboyant in the looting of funds meant for the poor in her ministry. She was conniving with officials of the UBA Bank and Access Bank to change mandates and move millions of cash to different personal accounts,” Jackson Ude said on Tuesday.
“Edu, between October and December, connived with the Accountant General of the Federation, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein to obtained signatures illegally from where she accessed N14billion from the account of National Social Investment Programmes Agency, NSIPA, without the consent and knowledge of the accounting officers of that agency. Who are those three illegal signatories to approved for her by the AG?
“While Edu is being investigated, the Accountant General also needs to be questioned on her role in the primitive looting by the embattled former Minister!” Jackson Ude further said.
