Chance the Rapper, whose real name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, has reportedly reached a divorce settlement with his estranged wife, Kirsten Corley.
The settlement comes nearly nine months after the couple announced their separation and approximately a month after Kirsten officially filed for divorce.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the 31-year-old rapper and his ex-wife have filed legal documents in Cook County, Illinois, confirming that they have reached an agreement to finalize their split.
The couple, who share two daughters, Kensli, 9, and Marli, 5, had been married since 2019, when they tied the knot in Newport Beach, California.
In the divorce documents, Kirsten states that the couple’s relationship is now “irretrievably broken.”
She also notes that they have been living separately for more than six months.
Kirsten further mentions that she has reviewed the settlement and feels it is a “fair and equitable resolution.” However, the details of the settlement have not been disclosed.
The settlement follows a joint statement released by the couple in April, in which they announced their decision to part ways. The statement read: “The two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the same time we spent together.”
Chance and Kirsten have known each other since childhood and began dating in 2013, when they were both in their late teens. They welcomed their first daughter, Kensli, in 2015. After a brief breakup in 2016, the couple reconciled and eventually got married in 2019.
