A Florida-based cruise company, Villa Vie Residences, has launched a travel initiative that offers Americans an opportunity to “escape” the United States during Donald Trump’s second presidential term.
The program, titled Tour La Vie, allows passengers to experience a global adventure over four years, traversing more than 140 countries without setting foot back in the U.S.
According to The Independent, the Villa Vie Odyssey offers flexible travel options tailored to varying durations.
These include a one-year “Escape from Reality” cruise, a two-year “Mid-Term Selection” voyage, a three-year “Everywhere but Home” package, and the flagship four-year “Skip Forward” journey.
Mikael Petterson, founder and CEO of Villa Vie Residences, emphasized that the program is not politically motivated but rather a creative solution for individuals seeking an escape from the pressures of the current political climate.
Speaking to Newsweek, he clarified, “This idea was conceived before the election results. No matter who won, a significant portion of the population was bound to feel unsettled. We’re simply offering an outlet for those seeking a break.”
Petterson elaborated further: “If you’re searching for an escape, there’s no better place than aboard a ship. Imagine waking up every day to a new backyard, with every need meticulously catered to.”
Passengers aboard the cruise will enjoy a range of amenities designed for comfort and convenience. The package includes meals, drinks, WiFi, medical consultations, weekly housekeeping, and bi-weekly laundry services. Alcohol is complimentary at dinner, though additional beverages come at an extra cost.
The pricing for this once-in-a-lifetime experience begins at just under $40,000 per year, with the complete four-year journey costing up to $320,000 for a double-occupancy cabin. The ship, which has the capacity to host 600 residents, is currently operational and permits passengers to embark at designated ports along the way.
