There certainly were no smiling faces yesterday as most of Twitter’s employees around the world lastweek Friday to see if they would be among the list of employees Musk will let go. According to reports from various news outlets, 3700 of Twitter employees were fired as they received news of thier job termination via email.
There are growing concerns that Musk decision to layoff many Twitter staffs might have been the wrong move especially at a time like this, the mid-term elections are fast approaching, civil-rights group feel that more hands should be on desk to safe-guard the democratic progress.
Twitter might not have enough staffs at the moment to properly enforce content moderation policies which is why advertisers have slowly pulled back on ad campaigns as they might want to know the early restructioning of Twitter’s platform. Twitter’s founder Jack Dorsey took to twitter on saturday and apologized to his former staffs.
“Folks at Twitter past and present are strong and resilient. They will always find a way no matter how difficult the moment. i realize many are angry with me. I own the responsibility for why everyone is in this situation: I grew the company size too quickly. I apologize for that.”
Elon also commented on his discision saying;
“No choice when the company is losing over 4 Million dollars a day.”
