Eddie Jones who has just been Head coach for 10 months has been sacked before the 2023 Rugby World Cup, this came as a surprise to many because it was planned that He would step down after the Rugby World Cup next year.
RFU CEO Bill Sweeny took to twitter to thank Eddie for his service in the team, He wrote;
“He has had a successful run on behalf of England’s Rugby team with accolades as winning three of six nations championships, one grand slam in 2016 and taking the England team to the Rugby world cup final. He has the highest win ratio of any previous England head coach and has helped develop the leadership skills of players and coaches.”
He further wrote;
“I am grateful to Eddie for all He has done for England and across many areas of the game and the professional way in which he has approached reviewing the performance of the team. He has provided the panel with insights and meaningful lessons that will support the team going forward.”
England lost to Argentina this autumn for the first time since 2009 under Eddie’s leadership.
