“Eric Odoh-Ochoeme, a former aide of Former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, allegedly connived with some officials and members of Mohammadu Buhari’s Government, and stole $6.23million meant for ‘Foreign Election Observers Mission,’ on February 8, 2023,” Jackson Ude alleged on X on Friday, January 5, 2024.
“The funds which was approved by former President Buhari through a letter dated January 23, 2023 ahead of the February 2023 General Elections, was moved from the Abuja branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria,” Jackson Ude said.
“While Odo-Ochoeme is currently on the run, one Abdulwaheed Mohammed involved in the stealing, currently detained, has allegedly confessed to the heist and made some refunds. He also named one one Bashirdeen Mohammed Maisanu, an Assistant Director in CBN, as a member of the criminal g*ng,” Jackson Ude further alleged.
