The U-17 women’s world cup has seen another light of day with the young female players of Nigeria finally qualifying and exiting the group stage which advances them to the quarter finals. It was indeed a slim loss for the Chileans who pressed the Nigerians at the closing minutes of the second half of the game.
The two teams who played at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday played well for their respective teams. The young Nigerian women who used a 4-4-2 formation scored two goals with efforts from Blessing (4) and Mosaku (82). Rovner of Chile scored by penalty at extra time (91)(1).
The young Nigerians would be hoping to continue this round of success in the remaining game as a possibility of winning the cup is not far fetched.
