Unknown gunmen stormed a Labour Party meeting, kidnapping two high-ranking officials Aba, Abia State.
The victims, Ceekay Igara, Deputy National Chairman, and Prince G. O. Ndubueze, Acting State Chairman, were taken away by the masked assailants.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen, armed to the teeth, invaded the meeting venue, a hotel in Aba, the commercial nerve center of the state.
The attackers claimed they acted on orders “from above,” but refrained from explaining further.
The gunmen forcefully whisked away Ndubueze in an unmarked vehicle, leaving the party members in a state of panic.
The sudden abduction caused outrage and concern among the Labour Party faithful, who erupted into solidarity chants.
The chants condemned the kidnapping as an “anti-people” act and condemned the worsening security situation in Abia State. P
