…..Gives digital technology, food programmes and a hand of support to the poor
Nigeria-based tech giant, Insolify recently embarked on a philanthropic mission by partnering with various NGOs including Al-wifaq Almajiri, a food and shelter charity group in Northern Nigeria, to provide digital infrastructure for the NGOs and to provide food to the poor and out-of-school children in the region of Northern Nigeria.
The Northern region of Nigeria consists of nineteen States. Insolify is partnering with the charity groups with a plan to reach as much as almost all the poor and vulnerable children in Northern Nigeria, to provide succour for them.
Commenting on the vision behind the programme, Billah Muayyat, CEO of Insolify recounts how he grew up in the Northern region of Nigeria as an underprivileged and how it impacted on him in ways he has been living with the determination to give back to the society.
“In the US and other advanced economies, most of the founders of great enterprises started life on a challenging note. Many of them were not born with a silver spoon. In fact, many of them had to brave the odds to take on life and to turn the tides and to keep on going and going till their stories changed for the best and they went on to become great people in the society and they went on to impact their neighbourhoods, their societies, their nations and even the world itself. That is not too far from the story of my own life. I grew up in the interior parts of Plateau State. I am one of the very few that made it out of the poor neighbourhoods out there in the Northern region of Nigeria. The issues are real.
“So; myself and the management of my company looked at some of the key issues bothering on the society and we decided that one of the ways we can give back to the society is by embarking on grassroot outreaches. That is how we conceived the idea of working with Al-wifaq Almajiri group and other stakeholders to give back to the poor especially in Northern Nigeria.
“Statistically, the North is highly disadvantaged and is being held back by massive poverty and worrying insufficient access to basic amenities and education.
“So we have decided to take on these challenges as part of Corporate Social Responsibility and as a people with a story that can easily relate with the challenges that these poor and vulnerable children face and we are saying ‘we are here to help’, ‘hope at last’,” Billah said.
“The programme has been on for a while now. The next phase continues on August 24, 2024,” Billah further said.
