Houston police have apprehended a man accused of murdering his sister and her young daughter.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, has been charged with capital murder for the fatal stabbing of his 28-year-old sister and her two-year-old child, whose lifeless bodies were discovered early Friday morning.
According to law enforcement officials, the tragic incident unfolded at an apartment complex located on Richmond Avenue near Shadowbriar. Police officers were first alerted by an individual who flagged them down, claiming that the mother and child were being held hostage.
Upon their arrival, police found Fisher asleep on a couch inside the residence. As they conducted a search of the apartment, the bodies of the woman and her child were discovered in another room, both bearing fatal stab wounds.
Houston Police Department detectives reported that Fisher displayed injuries consistent with a physical altercation and was also found with blood on his clothing. These findings prompted authorities to take him into custody for questioning. Following his interrogation, Fisher was formally charged with capital murder and transferred to the Harris County Jail.
Local news outlet KHOU 11’s Jason Miles revealed that the deceased woman was Fisher’s sister, making him the uncle of the toddler.
While no motive has yet been disclosed, police confirmed that evidence at the scene indicates a violent struggle occurred prior to the tragic deaths.
Fisher now faces the severe legal consequences of his alleged actions, with capital murder charges carrying the possibility of life imprisonment or even the death penalty under Texas law.
