Facebook might be seeing an exclusion of American News content from its platform if new law passes. This new law states that News organizations will be able to negotiate fees for their news content which is displayed on Meta’s platform Facebook.
Meta’s spokesperson Andy Stone took to Twitter with a short beginning extract taken from the tweet said that “if the US Congress chooses to pass an ill-considered journalism bill as part of national legislation we will be forced to consider removing News from our platform altogether.”
The government’s purpose with this bill is for Tech companies to share in their advertising revenue which would help News organizations financially. This bill was passed in Australia and worked and the US government are cranking down in America also, it would only be a matter of time to see if they cave in.
