Meta warns 1 million users of harmful apps

Meta, Facebook’s parent company has warmed a million of its Facebook users that there are about 400 apps that could be harmful to use. These apps can redirect a user to type in their Facebook account login details and the user’s data will be used for negative purposes.

These apps are not subjected to only for Android but for apple users as well.
Meta’s director of Threat Disruption, David Agranovich had this to say;

“The reality is a lot of these scams don’t start and end on one platform,” Agranovich said. “To avoid detection, threat actors will often carry their activity across different sites, which makes cross industry collaboration like this all the more critical.”
