The wireless internet has come a long way, advancement in internet connectivity has arrived with wireless technology all the way from the G to the 5G, one should ask oneself if Nigeria has the infastructure that will take advantage and better the life of it’s citizens.
5G has been in development but not until 2019 did it begin to get noticed by all who saw telecom companies try to launch it in people’s homes. There was a great fear that the radio waves emitting from cellphone towers with 5G installed on them would slowly kill humans if not immediately.
All technological advancement has had certain risk attached to them but we as humans have had to adjust to great changes in other to move forward with the world.
Africa’s telecom giant MTN had launched their 5G router about 2 weeks ago and because it’s a competitive ground, it’s rivals Airtel,Glo and 9mobile will follow suite.
5G is supposed to be the next phase of fast connectivity but when a country like Nigeria doesn’t have enough technological infastructure to take advantage of it then it becomes a “plaything” only to be used for internet connectivity on our smart phones.
Infastructure in hospital, schools, security are a good place to start because if those infastructure are not in place then an introduction of 5G would just be wasted.
