Napoli’s management is reportedly angry with Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian star striker, following his decision to reject a potential move to Manchester United during the January transfer window.
Manchester United had been keen on signing the 26-year-old Nigeria international, as they sought to bolster their squad after a difficult start to the season.
According to Italian publication La Repubblica, Osimhen has expressed his desire to remain with Galatasaray, the Turkish Super Lig champions, for the remainder of the season.
Napoli had included a break-up clause in Osimhen’s contract when he joined Galatasaray on loan last September. The clause was intended to facilitate a potential sale of the player, with Napoli hoping to generate €81m from the transfer, which would be invested in strengthening their squad.
The Nigerian striker reportedly informed Napoli’s director, Giovanni Manna, of his intention to remain with Galatasaray until the end of the season.
