The Nigerian Army has announced a series of successful operations against notorious terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of eight assailants and the rescue of 16 kidnapped hostages.Â
On September 22, troops successfully foiled an attempted raid by terrorists on villages in Borno State, aimed at securing supplies and logistics.
The operation resulted in the elimination of three terrorists and the recovery of a substantial cache of firearms, including:
One light machine gun
One AK-47 rifle
Two hand grenades
Five AK-47 rifle magazines
200 linked rounds of light machine gun ammunition
Miscellaneous materials, including money and phones
In another operation, troops intercepted terrorists escorting abducted victims through Uvaha village in Gwoza Local Government Area.
Despite heavy rainfall, the troops pursued the terrorists, eliminating one assailant and forcing the others to flee. This operation led to the rescue of 16 hostages, comprising 10 men and 6 women.
Intelligence-led operations in Yobe State resulted in the neutralization of four terrorists in the Madza and Azare villages of Gujba Local Government Area. Troops captured:

In the Federal Capital Territory, troops, in synergy with other security agencies, conducted a stop-and-search operation on suspected vehicles.
