The Nigerian national team’s 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya has been unveiled.
Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen released the list on Saturday, October 5, 2024, omitting injured striker Victor Osimhen.
In-form Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman earned a call-up, joining regulars like captain William Ekong, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, and Victor Boniface.
Defender Bright Osayi-Samuel returns to the team after missing the previous AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda in September. Playmaker Chidera Ejuke also makes a comeback.
Nigeria will face Libya in a home-and-away contest. The Super Eagles host Libya at Uyo’s Godswill Akpabio Stadium on October 11 and travel to Benghazi for the return leg at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on October 15.
All invited players are expected to report to camp in Uyo on October 7.
