Edo State’s Governor-Elect, Monday Okpebholo, has made his inaugural appointment, naming journalist Fred Itua as his Chief Press Secretary, just a day before taking office on November 12, 2024.

Itua previously served as the Assistant Political Editor at The Sun newspaper.
As Chief Press Secretary, he will be responsible for managing the governor’s communications and press relations.
Okpebholo’s transition into office marks the end of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s tenure.
