Former Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o and current Cameroon football chief was seen by eye witnesses attacking a man in Doha after a World Cup match at Stadium 974.
After a heated exchange, the former striker appears to knee the man in the face. The man who is later identified as Said Mamouni an Algerian YouTuber who was posting videos from the World Cup. Mamouni says he asked Eto’o if he’d bribed referee Bakary Papa Gassama who oversaw a contentious Cameroon win over Algeria earlier this year.
Eto’o is a 2022 World Cup ambassador and the current Cameroon FA chief. People took to twitter to express their displeasure with what Eto’o did which made the Cameroonian apologize but says Algeria must end “this unhealthy climate.”
