The struggle for who emerges Minority Leader of the 10th Senate is no doubt now a subject of conversation in recent times.
First of all, it is clear that the PDP has the sufficient enough numbers among the minority parties in the 10th Senate to produce the Minority Leader of the 10th Senate.
As this conversation rages ahead of the soonest days to come when the minority parties will meet to elect a leader for themselves in the Senate, one name that the cap fits is the Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ningi.
Senator Abdul Ningi is a three-times House of Representatives Member, he is a former Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, a former Senator, a former Majority Leader of the Senate and a former National Organising Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Senator Abdul Ningi served as the House Majority Leader of the Nigerian House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. He was a Member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2011.
He was later a Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate.
In as much as a principal office election is concerned, Abdul Ningi was a former principal officer of the Nigerian Senate and hence he has the capacity and experience to lead the Minority parties in the 10th Senate.
He is a man who has stood loyal to his party, PDP, from day one (from onset of the fourth republic, 1998/1999 till date). he is a man of influence both within and outside of the Senate.
At a time like this, Abdul Ningi will no doubt bring the needed check the APC-dominated Senate needs for the betterment of Nigeria and Nigerians. Abdul Ningi is therefore the best man for the job of Minority Leader of the 10th Senate.
