A man identified as Ogeoma Ogbonna has been accused of beheading his father, Azubuike Ogbonna Umuomei community in the Obingwa council area of Abia State. Ogeoma allegedly buried his father’s severed head in a shallow grave within the compound.
Neighbors were alerted to the crime and rushed to the compound, where they were met with the sight of Azubuike’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood.
According to eyewitnesses, Ogeoma had been exhibiting signs of mental instability and had frequently threatened to harm those around him.
“Ogeoma has been showing signs of mental illness. He was always threatening to harm people,” a native of the community revealed. “But nobody in this community knew that he would go to the extent of cutting off his father’s head. We are still in shock at how he could kill his father.”
It was reported that Ogeoma had already buried his father’s head in a shallow grave within the compound before neighbors were alerted to the crime. “Before neighbours were called in to see what happened, he had already buried the head in a shallow grave in the compound. He took people and showed them the grave,” the community member disclosed.
