A terrorist assault on the Kungurki community in the Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State has left an elderly man dead and 13 others, including a two-month-old baby and the infant’s mother, abducted.
The incident was reported on Sunday by Zagazola Makama, a renowned counterterrorism and insurgency expert specializing in the Lake Chad Basin.
Makama shared details of the attack via his official X account.
In a statement, a local resident described the events: “The attackers moved swiftly, rounding up their victims and retreating into the nearby forest. It was a terrifying experience. They took women and children, leaving us paralyzed with fear and uncertainty.”
Makama corroborated this account, “They killed an elderly man in cold blood and abducted several residents, including a mother and her two-month-old baby,” he revealed.
