A discovery was made by local hunters in Kaduna State’s Kachia local government area, where two bodies believed to be bandits were found in the Kurmin-Kare forest.
A recent military operation resulted in the killing of three bandits during a gun battle at Mai-Iddo village.
According to a reliable source from the area, the hunters from the neighbouring Kurmin-Kare village stumbled upon the corpses on a rocky hill on Monday.
The village chief confirmed that the bodies were likely those of fleeing bandits from Mai-Iddo village.
The source revealed, “Two hunters from Kurmin-Kare village found the two corpses on a rocky hill in the area on Monday.” Further details emerged that the bodies were riddled with bullets, suggesting a violent confrontation.
Last Saturday’s military raid on the bandits’ hideout led to the rescue of four abducted farmers, including a woman. The successful operation was marked by a gun battle, resulting in the deaths of three bandits.
ASP Hassan Mansur, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, has yet to confirm the discovery of the suspected bandit bodies.
