Xpeng a Chinese electric vehicle company has been working on a prototype flying car which They showcased in China in front of a 150 people as they watched with amazement. This flying car which they called X2, is a 2 seater vehicle that has 8 propellers which allows it to take off and land vertically.
It is equipped with autonomous flight capabilities and has a max speed of 130km/h (80mph) which is the maximum flight speed. The uncrewed test flight lasted about 90 minutes and produced no carbon dioxide. Qiu Minguan, General manager of Xpeng Aeroht told SCMP (South China morning post);
“We are now in the researching process. We are making step by step (progress) to the international market. and first we selected Dubai city because Dubai is the most innovative city in the world. This is our first public flight globally and this is our first step to the international market.”
Xpeng says its next generation of flying cars will include a model with wheels.
