Plans are underway for President Bola Tinubu to undertake a diplomatic trip to China in the first week of September 2024.
According to Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the visit will provide an opportunity for President Tinubu to engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Xi Jinping, focusing on strengthening relations between the two nations.
Key objectives of the trip include:

Finalizing contract terms with the Chinese Rail Construction Company (CRCC) for the Ibadan to Abuja rail project

Attracting foreign direct investment to Nigeria in sectors such as agriculture, power, commerce, and communications

Signing several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to foster cooperation and economic growth
This visit is expected to enhance Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with China, driving progress and development in various sectors.
