SIM cards are widely known to connect you to the carrier of your choice e.g Mtn, Airtel or glo. This means of connecting us to our loved ones might be a thing of the past as we will start to access our carrier services digitally.
eSIMs will be added to the smartphone’s UI with options to choose your favorite carrier. It will provide more security and flexibility where it wasn’t before. These type of phones already exists in the market and are currently being used by consumers without thier knowledge, this is because the smartphone makers haven’t advertised this feature enough to the general public.
There are security concerns as regards phone theft which could allow a thief to access your information but connecting to a carrier via cloud service means you can update and alert your carrier about phone theft in which you may decide to block your account remotely.
This adoption is slow but might be adopted soon as Apple’s iPhone SE had this features which many of their users are taking advantage of and most times, whatever new innovation Apple does is what other phone makers follow.
