The Federal Government of Nigeria allocated N29 billion for infrastructure development in September, focusing on enhancing road networks and improving water resources.
According to data from GovSpend, a website tracking government expenditures, several key projects received significant funding.
For instance, JRB Constructions Company Ltd was allocated N4.42 billion for the extensive rehabilitation of the Potiskum-Jakusko-Gashua Road in Yobe State.
Reinforced Global Resources Ltd received N5.88 billion for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Ugep-Opkosi Road, connecting Cross River and Ebonyi States.
New road constructions also received substantial funding, with Rockborough XL Prime Ltd securing N1.26 billion for the Maraba Donga Road in Taraba State, and Truetech Global Investment Services Ltd receiving N1.25 billion for the East-West Road project in Delta State.
Other notable allocations include funding for water infrastructure, with N905.24 million allocated for completing the Farin Ruwa Multipurpose Dam in Nasarawa State, contracted to Wiz China Worldwide Engineering Ltd.
Additionally, the government invested in new federal secretariats, with N1.90 billion disbursed to Medaville Construction Ltd for the Kebbi State secretariat, N1.82 billion to Candon Construction Ltd for Abia State, and N1.82 billion to Strabic Construction Ltd for Ebonyi State.
Steady Lane Nigeria Ltd received N1.49 billion for the Lokoja secretariat in Kogi State.
Other road rehabilitation and construction efforts received funding, such as N1.23 billion to Rockborough XL Prime Ltd for bypass construction in Zamfara State, N596.36 million to Gerawa Global Engineering Ltd for road interventions in Borno State, and N511.07 million to Anbez Innovations Ltd for repairs along the Katsina-Daura Road.
HMF Construction Ltd also received N1.04 billion for various projects on the Abeokuta-Ajebo Road in Ogun State.
In Sokoto State, Sholly Frontlink Impec Ltd was allocated N567.37 million for the construction of Aliero Road, and Logine International Ltd received N780.98 million for slum upgrades.
Lastly, N678.16 million was set aside as a 50 percent counterpart fund for the United Nations Children’s Fund drawdown related to national water sanitation efforts.
