It has been 3 years since Nigerian businessman and socialite Obinna Iyiegbu, best known as “Obi Cubana,” granted anyone an interview.
But recently, he sat down for an interview with media personality and filmmaker Chude Jideonwo, and he bared it all, addressing the ritual accusations he faced when his wife, Mrs. Ebele Iyiegbu, fell ill.
He disclosed that this happened after his wife gave birth to their son, Alex.
On Valentine’s Day, she developed a strange illness, Obi Cubana said.
After a series of diagnoses, it was revealed that his wife had a cyst in her brain, which had affected the nerves controlling one side of her body.
Her sickness occurred while Cubana’s businesses were expanding and booming.
He stated that after he got back from his trip to the Maldives, he started to hear different stories.
“The discussions started, and people started saying things. It was someone who called me and said that he heard people saying that I used my wife for JuJu. I said what? And it was my so-called friends who said it.” He said
But he didn’t pay attention to the rumours; his focus was on making sure his wife got better and was okay.
They started treatment at one of the best hospitals in South Africa, and at this point, his wife, Ebele, had partial paralysis.
He also stated that one of the doctors treating his wife told him his wife wouldn’t die, but she would never walk again and never give birth again.
This left him heavily was distraught and cried all through the night.
His wife, however, was determined.
Obi, I will walk on my feet again, and I will train this baby.’ She said.
Today, Mrs. Ebele is hale and hearty, walking and training her children.
