Three Chinese astronauts have returned to Earth after spending 183 days in space. This was the first time they had landed at night and during winter for China’s manned space programme.
On its mission, Shenzhou-14 finished the basic structure of the Tiangong space station
Astronaut Chen Dong who is also commander of the Shenzhou-14said;
“After a busy but fulfilling six months in space, I am very honored to have witnessed the completion of the basic configuration of China’s space station. Like a meteor, we have now returned to the embrace of the motherland. I feel proud of our great country.”
China is the only country, other than Russia and the United States, to have both put astronauts into space and built a space station.
