The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Akwa Ibom State Command has emphasized the need for its officers to strive for excellence and improved performance to deliver high-quality services.
This charge was given by the State Commandant, Mr. Eluyemi Eluwade, during the third edition of the Commandant Quarterly Conference held in Ikot Ekpene on Wednesday.
The conference aimed to assess the command’s performance, evaluate security threats in the state, and develop effective solutions.
Eluwade explained that the leadership of the Corps is committed to regularly reviewing key performance indicators to ensure alignment with the standard operating procedure of NSCDC.
During the conference, participants were divided into syndicates, each led by a Deputy Commandant, to brainstorm and proffer implementable solutions on critical topics.
These topics included: farmers-herders clashes, rising cases of kidnapping and robbery, inadequate logistics leading to operational inefficiency, and indiscipline within the Corps.
The syndicates were tasked with identifying causes, challenges, effects, and workable solutions.
The resolutions from these brainstorming sessions will be forwarded to higher authorities and the State Government for seamless implementation.
Eluwade encouraged officers to maintain a high level of performance, promising to reward the best three divisions, best Area Command, and best Department at the next conference.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. John Cleton, commended NSCDC for its contributions to ensuring peace and security in the state.
He praised the Commandant’s efforts in positioning NSCDC as an elite security agency.
