Yahaya Bello Finally Honours EFCC Invitation

Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, has finally honored the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) invitation amidst allegations of money laundering and corruption to the tune of N80.2 billion.

Bello’s decision came after consulting with his family, legal team, and political allies, according to a statement released by his media office.

Recall that Bello was previously declared wanted by the EFCC, but he claimed he couldn’t appear due to concerns about being embarrassed or intimidated.

However, the EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, offered Bello the opportunity to be interrogated in his office to alleviate these concerns.

Bello’s team emphasized that he respects the rule of law and constituted authority, and his decision to honor the EFCC’s invitation demonstrates his commitment to clearing his name.
