A 16-year-old boy from New Mexico is currently in custody, accused of a quadruple homicide that claimed the lives of his family members.
According to the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office, a distressing 911 call was received early Saturday, December 14, from a male minor who told the dispatcher, “he had killed his family”.
Upon arriving at the residence in Belen, deputies were met with the teenager with his hands raised, appearing “extremely intoxicated.”
As authorities entered the home, they discovered the bodies of Leonardo Leyva, 42, Adriana Bencomo, 35, Adrian Leyva, 16, and Alexander Leyva, 14.
All four victims had apparent gunshot wounds, and a handgun was found on the kitchen table.
A Belen official confirmed that the victims were indeed the suspect’s parents and two brothers.
The teenager now faces four counts of first-degree murder.
